You Said, We Did – Cybersecurity

You said.
Can you provide more cybersecurity promotion and can you provide assistance on how to stay safe online.

We Did.
Cybersecurity is something that Information Services take very seriously.
Over the last year we have run three targeted campaigns;

  • Safer internet day – with blog posts and social media running over 2 weeks. We collaborated with Police Scotland for some live webcasts where a Police Officer answered internet security questions that may relate to the student population and the general public.
  • #StirCyberSec – We have run two #StirCyberCec campaigns on our @isstirling twitter account: one in the Spring Semester and one in the Autumn Semester. Both of these campaigns ran for four weeks. During these campaigns, we covered a vast breadth of topics relating to cybersecurity. Search #StirCyberSec on twitter to see our posts.

We also respond to immediate threats by publishing warnings and alerts on our IS news blog and our social media channels. If appropriate we share alerts via email or in the Staff Roundup/Student Bulletin.
