Security alert – ‘Mexican’ phishing email doing the rounds

We have been made aware that there is another phishing email doing the rounds at the moment.  This particular one may come from internal staff accounts.   However you may also receive it from external sources. Any compromised staff accounts will be automatically disabled due to the automatic settings we have on bulk emails.

This particular email looks like this:

and will be suspended if not validated within 24hrs after receiving this email. Click link
and fill the details to validate your IP.

What is Phishing?

Phishing is a fraudulent process of attempting to trick you into giving out personal information, or visiting a fake websites. Phishing attacks are often launched by email. Responding to a phishing attack can:

  • Release your personal details to someone who may use them fraudulently.
  • Encrypt your files and folders, demanding that a ‘ransom’ fee be paid to revert the damage.
  • Stop your computer from working completely.

People who engineer phishing campaigns are criminals and hackers.
