New semester – new library databases

Information Services is delighted to announce that we now subscribe to several new library databases and two of our existing databases have been upgraded for the new academic year. These new subscriptions bring increased amount of full text coverage for many subjects across the university.

 

Business Source Premier has been replaced with Business Source Complete, which contains an additional 850 peer reviewed journals.

 

CINAHL with Full Text has been replaced with CINAHL Complete, which provides an additional 820 journals in the fields of nursing and allied health.

 

Our new databases are:

 

Communication Source, useful for linguistics and language studies, public relations and media studies.

 

Criminal Justice Abstracts, access to 320 journals, useful for law and criminology topics.

 

Education Research Complete, a great source of education research. Contains over 1400 full text journals and 550 electronic books about education.

 

Political Science Complete and Public Affairs Index, useful for politics research. Political Science Complete provides access to over 520 politics journals, 340 electronic reference books and 36,000 politics related conference papers.

 

SocINDEX, access to 900 journals and 850 electronic books. SociINDEX is useful for all social science subject areas including sociology, social policy, criminology, social work, housing, dementia studies and gender studies.

 

Coming soon are new resources for health researchers and practitioners designed to provide easy access to point of care health information and clinical guidelines. A further blog post will be made about these shortly.

 

All the new databases above link with RefWorks, so references retrieved can be easily exported to create bibliographies. For help and advice about searching the new resources, or any other library databases, please contact your Subject Librarians via the Information Centre.
