Wellbeing Week at the Library: Relax, Recharge, Reconnect

Wellbeing Week (Monday 23rd – Friday 27th February) is coming up, and the Library is proud to be at the heart of it all. Whether you’re looking for a quiet moment of calm between lectures, a mindful activity to reset your focus, or inspiration for improving your wellbeing, we’ve created welcoming spaces and resources to help you relax, recharge, and reconnect.

Discover Our Library Wellbeing Space

The Library Wellbeing Space is open to everyone who wants to take a break from the busyness of university life. Designed as a calm and supportive environment, with amazing views of the University loch, wildlife it’s the perfect place to pause and unwind.

Inside the space, you’ll find a range of relaxing activities, including:

  • Mindfulness colouring sheets to help quiet busy minds
  • Creative crafts and simple hands-on activities to encourage focus and calm
  • Gratitude and reflection prompts to inspire positive thinking
  • Comfortable seating areas where you can simply sit, breathe, and take a moment for yourself

Whether you stay for five minutes or an hour, the space is here for you – no booking required, just drop in.

Explore Our Curated Wellbeing Reading List

Books can be powerful tools for reflection, learning, and escape. For Wellbeing Week, our team has carefully curated a Wellbeing Reading List featuring titles that support mental health, resilience, self-care, mindfulness, and personal growth.

From practical guides on managing stress and building healthy habits to uplifting fiction and inspirational memoirs, there’s something for everyone. You can browse the collection in our special Wellbeing Book Display in the Library – perfect for discovering a new read that speaks to you.

If you prefer to browse online, the full reading list is also available through our catalogue, so you can reserve titles or explore eBooks at your convenience.

Take a Break with Our Ever-Popular Library Jigsaws

No Wellbeing Week would be complete without mentioning our much-loved Library Jigsaws. These communal puzzles have become a firm favourite, bringing students and staff together in a shared, screen-free activity.

There’s something wonderfully calming about finding the right piece and seeing the bigger picture slowly come together. You can contribute a few pieces during a study break or settle in for a longer session – every piece added is part of a collective effort.

It’s mindful, collaborative, and surprisingly satisfying.

Have Your Say

We’d love to hear what you think about the Library Wellbeing Space. During Wellbeing Week, students are invited to share their thoughts, reflections, and suggestions on our Graffiti Wall, located in the staircase on Level 3 of the Library.

Whether you want to leave a message about what wellbeing means to you, tell us what you’ve enjoyed most, or suggest ideas for the future, your voice matters. The Graffiti Wall is your space to be creative, honest, and heard – and we can’t wait to read your comments.

Access Support Anytime: Our Online Wellbeing Space

Wellbeing doesn’t stop when you leave the Library building. Our Online Wellbeing Space, accessible via the Unidesk Self-Service Portal, offers 24/7 access to helpful resources and support. (Link)

There you’ll find:
