LibKey Nomad: one-click access to full-text

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that delivers one-click access to the full-text of library-subscribed articles, as well as any open access versions.

Earlier in the year Information Services added LibKey Nomad to all the university managed computers on campus; on both student and staff computers.

So, you may have noticed the friendly looking Nomad buttons appearing in search results on publisher websites, library databases, even Wikipedia references:

Links to articles and ebooks in the references of Wikipedia articles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia#References

Our usage stats show that people are enjoying this handy new tool.  During March, LibKey Nomad was used 1,200 times.

If you like Nomad you can download it for the web browsers on your own computers and devices:

LibKey Nomad is pretty “smart”. If you land on an article where we don’t have access from that website, then Nomad will link you through to LibrarySearch where you can check if we have access at other sites.  For example, we don’t have access to this article at Wiley Online, but clicking on ‘Access Options’ will route you to LibrarySearch and you can access the article from JSTOR instead.

When we don’t have immediate access to articles, LibKey Nomad will link you to our Document Delivery service instead 😊.
