Stirling part of Frontiers UK Framework: 10% discount for Open Access publishing

University of Stirling is now part of the Frontiers UK Framework that runs until 30th September 2022.  The framework gives a 10% discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) for publishing Open Access with Frontiers and is free at point of acceptance for authors. Other benefits include a simplified purchasing process and maximum APC costs that are frozen for the term of the agreement.

All Frontiers journals are fully Open Access journals which means, for eligible authors, the University  will cover the cost of Frontiers’ APCs.  Authors should apply to the APC fund before submitting their manuscript to Frontiers.

Then when submitting their article to Frontiers, authors simply select ‘University of Stirling’ as the payer in the invoice section. It’s as easy as that for authors!

For accepted manuscripts, Frontiers will verify the author’s eligibility with the University and the University will receive a simple aggregated invoice once a month, with the 10% discount applied.

The only condition of the Frontiers Framework is that the Stirling author must be the corresponding author. The Framework covers all article types and all ‘Frontiers in’ journal titles are included.

Stirling authors already publish in Frontiers titles, see the Frontiers journal titles which are popular with Stirling researchers and see the full list of journals included in the Framework.

The University is a member of a number of agreements supporting the move to greater open access for our research, in cost efficient ways – see our Publisher memberships and discounts page.
