The first meeting of the University book club “One more page…” will be in conjunction with our Libraries Week event where we will be having a panel discussion with Abir Mukherjee. The book group is being started as part of the #BeConnected programme designed to keep you connected with the University community. This programme is for all staff and students at the University.
Abir Mukherjee is the bestselling author of the bestselling Wyndham & Banerjee series of crime novels set in Raj-era India. He has won the CWA Historical Dagger, the Prix du Polar Européen and the Wilbur Smith Award for Adventure Writing. His novels, A Rising Man and Smoke and Ashes were both selected as Waterstones Thriller of the Month. Smoke and Ashes was also chosen as one of The Times’ Best Crime and Thrillers since 1945. His latest novel, Death in the East is out now and is currently shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger for crime novel of the year. Abir grew up in Scotland and now lives in Surrey with his wife and two sons.
Professor Claire Squires will host a panel event with the author on Tuesday 6 October 18:30 – 19:30, this panel event will be available on Microsoft Teams. Please book your place on Eventbrite.
