Succeed will be going load-balanced at mid-semester. Load-balancing Succeed with two servers will just about double the capacity of Succeed and make Succeed more robust as a single server crashing will not stop the system.
Succeed will be down on Thursday 5th April (mid-semester week) to do the necessary work. It will probably be unavailable for the whole day (09.00-17.00).
Load-balancing Succeed will improve day-to-day performance but will not solve the issues with the extreme loads at the start of semester.
Load-balancing will however, help to address the extreme loads at the start of semester and it is also planned to change the opening times of modules in Succeed to try and stagger the load on the servers. The exact details of how the opening times of modules in Succeed will be changed are still to be arranged and further announcements will be made when they are agreed.
