Are you a poet aged 18β25 looking for expert feedback on your writing?
Young writers are invited to apply for a unique one-to-one mentoring opportunity with Stirling Makar Kevin P. Gilday at Bridge of Allan Library on Friday 11 September, from 5.00pm to 7.30pm.
Poetry 1-2-1: Young Poet Feedback Sessions
These relaxed and supportive sessions offer emerging poets the chance to discuss their work directly with an established writer. Successful applicants will receive a dedicated 30-minute feedback session, focusing on one poem and exploring ways to develop their voice, strengthen their writing, and build confidence in their creative practice.
As well as receiving personalised feedback, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about writing, publishing, and the creative process, while meeting and connecting with other young writers taking part in the event.
Kevin P. Gilday, Scotland’s Stirling Makar, is an acclaimed poet, performer and writer known for his engaging and accessible approach to creative writing. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain insight from an experienced poet and take your work to the next level.
Who can apply?
The sessions are open to writers aged 18β25.

- A short cover letter telling us a little about yourself and why you would like to take part
Please note that places are limited and it may not be possible to offer a session to everyone who applies.
