Recently, we asked students for their thoughts on the atmosphere of Level 2. Should it stay lively and social, or become a quieter space for focused study?
The results are in! While the vote wasn’t huge, it was clear enough to give us insight:
- 42 votes for “Loud and Proud”
- 26 votes for “Settle Down”
That means most of you want Level 2 to remain a vibrant, collaborative space.

- “If it’s too loud for you, go upstairs.”
- “Noise in Level 2 quiet study are as high as in a pub. Concentration is impossible—please socialise in the atrium.”
- “It should stay as it is. That is why we have the other quiet floors. Plus, it gives a chance for conversation in a comfortable space, without having to book a group study room or sit in the even louder atrium.”
Clearly, opinions are mixed—but the majority prefer Level 2 as a social space. However, we would ask that users respect others who may be trying to work/study and to keep unnecessary noise to a minimum.
