Windows 11 is Coming to University Devices
By now, many of your personal devices may already be running Windows 11. With Windows 10 support ending in October, it’s time for our University devices to make the move too.
Between now and October, Information Services will be upgrading all staff and student lab devices currently running Windows 10.
We’re actively testing the upgrade process for staff devices. Once testing is complete, the upgrade will be delivered via Windows Updates. Most staff devices will be upgraded this way. To help you prepare, we’ve published guidance on UniDesk outlining what to expect.
Student lab devices—both central and Faculty-managed—will be upgraded over the summer. We’ve contacted Deans of Faculty to confirm teaching software requirements, and we’re making these available through AppsAnywhere. All labs will be ready and running Windows 11 in time for the start of teaching in September.
