Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 will take place from 13 to 19 May, on the theme of “Movement: Moving more for our mental health”.

Mental Health Awareness Week happens every year, and it’s the biggest opportunity for the whole of the UK to come together to focus on getting good mental health. The week aims to tackle stigma and help people understand and prioritise their and others’ mental health.

Being active is important for our mental health. But so many of us struggle to get enough exercise. We know there are many different reasons for this, so this Mental Health Awareness Week we want to help people to find moments for movement in their daily routines. Going for a walk in your neighbourhood, putting on your favourite music and dancing around the living room, chair exercises when you’re watching television – it all counts!

Parkrun talk and walk

On Tuesday 14th at noon join the Stirling Parkrun Course director Colin Sinclair (beloved member of Library staff) for a talk about Parkrun at Stirling and the benefits that Parkrun can have on your mental health.  After the talk feel free join Colin to walk the Stirling Parkrun route. The talk is being held in the Sport Centre at Nourish Café.
