Love is all around

Love was all around in the library last week as we celebrated #StirPride and Valentine’s Day.

We hope you enjoyed our colourful displays for #StirPride Week. You can still pop in to see our decorations and our LGBTQ+ book display throughout February while we continue to celebrate LGBT History Month.

Our Valentine’s post box filled up with lots of lovely love letters (and a few break-up letters).

Your main concern is the temperature in the library building. For every letter we received asking us to turn the heating down we received one asking up to keep it just so. Temperature is so subjective and it is tricky to get it right for everyone. We suggest layers for folks feeling the heat and for those of you feeling a little chilly there are cosy blankets you can borrow from reception.

We also received a lot of positive comments about the library and its services. Here are a few:

“A nice place to concentrate and find peace of mind. Love You”
“Always nice and warm.”
“I love and use laptop loans frequently.”
“It’s always so lovely and cosy.”
“The library is a warm and welcoming place.”
“Keep up the good work!”
“I love the library, keep doing what you’re doing.”
“Nice and warm! Thanks.”
“Great study place. I love it.”
“The library is a lovely place to study”.

We are delighted with all the love for our staff. Here are a couple of our favourite comments:

“The absolute kindest, funniest and most helpful staff on all of campus.”
“Love, love, love Stirling University’s library. Many thanks to the staff, especially late-night staff, you guys are amazing.”

We also enjoyed a very special visit from one of our favourite admirers…

Valentine’s Day 2020

Thank you to everyone who took the time to write us a letter, we love you! Lots of love,
