Jisc – University of Stirling Researchers Pilot insight survey.

The University of Stirling has been selected to be part of a pilot group to be one of the institutions who are the test group for the newest Jisc survey.

We already take part in the annual Digital experiences insights survey where we survey Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught students. We have also taken part in the Staff digital experience insights survey.

Jisc have now developed this additional survey to allow research-active organisations to capture the experiences of a critical group of people. Researchers are often best placed to know whether the digital environment meets the needs of advanced specialist users. We also wanted to ensure that researchers have a powerful voice in decisions about the future of the digital environment and services.

The benefits to HE and the University will be that you will be able to:

  • Feedback anonymously about issues with the digital environment for research.
  • Influence decisions about the digital environment and services (evidence is that organisations respond swiftly to these surveys because they get immediate reports, benchmarking data, and clear action points).
  • Ensure you get any support you need, and that the technical expertise of researchers is recognised.

We were provided with a list of staff and students involved in research and have emailed these people directly from within the JISC online surveys tool. Please check your mailbox for your survey invitation (Check your junk folder if it is not in your inbox) If you still can’t find it and you think you should have been included please email information.centre@stir.ac.uk
