Information Services is delighted to report that, with significant assistance from JISC, the University has successfully become a Point of Presence on the JANET superfast network. This provides the opportunity for ten times the previous bandwidth plus the long desired resilience of diverse connectivity.
This is a significant milestone for the University and opens up a range of opportunities for cloud computing and modernisation of our IT and related processes, and will be accompanied imminently by a new, state of the art, firewall providing significantly enhanced cyber security.
