Back in November, we introduced you to your new personal trainer lynda. Since then over 4,000 videos have been viewed from the lynda.com site with the most popular course being ‘Excel 2013 Essential Training’.
Since the initial launch, a cross team working group led by IS has been looking at how best the university could make use of the resources in the lynda.com library. Representatives from the following areas were involved: IS, Careers, School Managers, HR, Student Learning Services, the Research Office and DEA.
The outcome of the group is the creation of a lynda landing page for Stirling – http://www.stir.ac.uk/lynda
This page pulls together key information about lynda.com and most usefully includes links to a number of playlists curated by the group for our staff and students.
- Playlists for students include: ‘Getting started with IT (for Undergraduates)’; ‘Personal effectiveness’; ‘Career management’
- Playlists for researchers and staff: ‘Using social media’; ‘Working with your research data’; ‘Research engagement, influence and impact’; ‘Career management’
