University Supports Open Access Book Publishing

The University has recently joined the Open Book Publishers’ Library Membership Scheme. Open Book Publishers (http://www.openbookpublishers.com/) publishes high quality Open Access research monographs in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

What does this mean for us?

  • We get free access to all the ebooks published by the Open Book Publishers enterprise. At the moment, there are 52 books in the collection, and this is expected to grow in size. All of the books are listed in our online library catalogue.
  • Several of these ebooks incorporate multimedia elements, e.g. audio files, to create truly innovative resources.
  • We are helping to support Open Access publishing for the Humanities, where much research is published in book format. This is an area where it has traditionally been harder to engage with Open Access publishing.
  • If you are a researcher interested in getting your book published on an Open Access platform, consider Open Book Publishers http://www.openbookpublishers.com/
