A new student guide to social media (Twitter, Facebook, blogs, Slideshare etc) has been developed by the Libraries at the Universities of Manchester, Leeds and York. The guide describes how different social media applications can be used for academic work, and the dos and don’ts to consider when using these platforms. You can either pick a a specific goal (e.g. find information, keep up to date) and the guide will recommend appropriate social media channels, or you can learn more about the channels such as Facebook and Twitter, and discover how they can be used to support your academic studies.
