Disruption to IS services Thursday 24 March: Industrial action

UCU has informed us that its members intend to participate in a one day strike on Thursday 24 March.

Information Services will do its best to minimise the impact this industrial action will have on those who use our services but inevitably there will be some disruption for which we apologise in advance.

The actual level of disruption may not be fully identified until once action has started but please find below the current estimate of the likely extent of disruption:

• Stirling Library: Likely to be open with most services operating, some possibly at reduced levels
• Information Centre: Likely to be operational but there may be delays in responding to some types of queries and resolving some types of problems
• Network and Systems: These should be operational as normal; however if faults occur there may be extended times to fix, possibly not until the following day
• PC support: No significant disruption is expected but there may be delays in some types of problems being resolved
• Highland Library: No significant disruption is expected
• AV Support in Classrooms: No significant disruption is expected but there may be delays in some types of problems being resolved
• Graphics and Print: No significant disruption is expected

Updates will be posted if there are changes to these positions.

Once again, Information Services would like to apologise for any delays or inconvenience that might arise.

Mark Toole, Director of Information Services
