IT Services downtime – Saturday 22nd January

On Saturday 22nd January Information Services and Estates and Campus Services will be making modifications to the power supply to the Server Room in Pathfoot Building which contains roughly one third of the University’s
centrally provided IT services.  The purpose of the modifications is to reduce the likelihood of unplanned downtime if power equipment in the room fails.

A significant range of IT services will not be available during the works.  The full list can be consulted here

We will start shutting down the listed services at 07:30 and expect to restore them between 10:30 and noon.

We aim to keep the data network in Pathfoot Building (including internet access) running throughout the power works.  If this proves not to be possible a further message will be sent to inform users.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this loss of IT services.

Alan Richardson
Systems and Network Services Manager
Information Services.
