As the nights draw in and Halloween approaches, there’s no better time to curl up with a good book that will keep you turning the pages long after dark.
This Halloween, we’re celebrating all things spooky with a special Halloween book display in the library. Whether you’re a fan of classic Gothic fiction, ghost stories, psychological thrillers, supernatural mysteries, or modern horror, you’ll find something to add a little seasonal suspense to your reading list.
From timeless favourites such as Dracula and Frankenstein to contemporary tales of mystery and suspense, our display has been carefully curated to help you discover your next hauntingly good read. Not a horror fan? Don’t worry. You’ll also find autumnal reads, dark academia favourites, eerie folklore, and atmospheric fiction perfect for the season.
Reading can be a great way to unwind during a busy semester, and exploring a new genre is the perfect excuse to take a break from studying and enjoy something a little different.
Visit the display
Pop into the library throughout Halloween week (from Tuesday 27th October) to browse the collection, borrow a book, and find some reading inspiration. Whether you’re looking for a terrifying tale or a cosy autumn read, there’s something for everyone.
Just be warned… some books are harder to put down than others.
