#UniMentalHealthDay is an annual day to get the nation talking about student mental health and working together to make mental health a university-wide priority. No matter who you are, you can take part in this day.
Join Student Minds and UMHAN on Thursday, 13th March and let’s work together to ensure that no student is held back by their mental health.
See below for some activities available to you in the library to support your mental health.
Room to Recharge
We’ve created a dedicated space where you can take a break away from your work to recharge and refresh. The area is equipped for mindfulness, quietly relaxing, or browsing the many wellbeing resources available. Within the space, you’ll find comfy seating, cushions, blankets, and an assortment of materials designed to enhance your sense of wellbeing. You will also find the library’s collection of books on the topic of health and wellbeing. Most importantly, you can relax and enjoy the views of our beautiful campus. The library wellbeing space is located on level 2 next to the Short Loan Collection.
Pop into the library wellbeing space on Thursday, 14th March, to view our #UniMentalHealthDay posters.
Reading for Wellbeing
Take a look at our Wellbeing Reading List, including a list of mood-boosting fiction books, or pop into the library to browse our health and wellbeing collection in the wellbeing space. While you are there, bring a book and take a book from our book swap. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share your favourite reads with others and find new favourites to enjoy.
10 Minutes for You
The 10 Minutes for You challenge is all about taking a short break from your busy schedule to focus on your mental wellbeing. Whether it’s a quick meditation session, a short walk, or simply sitting quietly with a cup of tea, these ten minutes can make a significant difference in your day.
You can use the library wellbeing space to complete the 10 Minutes for You challenge. In this space, you can read a book from our wellbeing collection, choose a book from our book swap, complete a journaling sheet, or enjoy some colouring in. It’s a perfect spot to relax and recharge.
See our blog post for all the wellbeing activities and resources available in the library.
