Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day

Random Acts of Kindness Day is a special day dedicated to spreading kindness and positivity. Celebrated on February 17th, this day encourages people to perform random acts of kindness, no matter how big or small, to make the world a better place. But what exactly are random acts of kindness?

What Are Random Acts of Kindness?

Random acts of kindness are intentional acts of generosity and compassion that can make a positive difference in someone’s life. These acts can be as simple as holding the door open for someone, leaving a kind note for a colleague, or paying for a stranger’s coffee. The idea is to perform these acts without expecting anything in return, purely to spread joy and positivity.

Random Acts of Kindness from Library and IT Services

Library and IT Services at the University of Stirling have been actively participating in Random Acts of Kindness Day. This year the Library Book Fairies will be sharing their love of reading by hiding books around the library for lucky finders to keep or gift to a friend.

We will also be joining in with a campaign from the Random Acts of Kindness foundation’s the kind heart project. You can pop in to the library and write a kind note and put it on our board. The purpose of this campaign is to make kindness the norm.

There will also be some small gifts to celebrate this day in the library.

These small gestures go a long way in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment within the university.
