Library building re-opening plans

We are working to give you access to our lovely library again, following guidance from the University and the Scottish Government.  Cleaning and installation of protection for staff and students is currently underway.

From next week, W/C 20th July, we will introduce ‘Click and Collect’ – you will be able to make online requests for printed books and come and pick them up at the library.  More info here: http://stir.ac.uk/1xi 

Library study space level 3

Limited access to study space for PG students is planned for W/C 3rd August, subject to some final health and safety measures being put in place inside the library. The library will be open 9 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday.

  • We strongly encourage you to wear a mask
  • Sanitise your hands (and wash your hands frequently)
  • Wipe down work stations before and after use (using the wipes provided)
  • Please stay socially distanced from others and choose a workstation 2 metres away from other students.
  • Please use the accessible toilets located on all floors of the library.

Our Library and IT staff continue to provide support remotely via UniDesk.  You can also contact us on library@stir.ac.uk (Library) or information.centre@stir.ac.uk (IT).  

We plan to have the library open to all staff and students by the start of semester, watch this space for more details.  We can’t wait to see you all again πŸ™‚

  1. Hi there, I am a postgraduate student planning on coming to the library on Wednesday to use the study space. I was wondering if there is any additional information you could provide me ie. how to enter the library, general procedures etc.
