We welcome your suggestions of books by BAME (Black, Asian, Arabic and other minority Ethnic) authors to add to the Library collection. Our #LiberateYourLibrary campaign aims to diversify the Library resources and introduce new perspectives of life.
You can suggest books via our online form: stir.ac.uk/2k6 or search for ‘suggest a book’ in UniDesk. As well as making a book suggestion you’ll also have the opportunity to say why you’ve chosen a particular title.
The project takes inspiration from NUS campaigns to liberate the curriculum, and move away from standard white male and Eurocentric reading lists. A reading list hackathon and other events are planned for the Autumn Semester, so watch this space and follow our hashtag, #LiberateYourLibrary, on social media.
Pop into the Library to see our #LiberateYourLibrary book display.
We’re very grateful to the Stirling Fund for the support with this project.
