“Make it easier to print from our own devices”.

We did –

Last summer we replaced all printers on campus with a new fleet of Ricoh multifunctional devices (MFDs). We have installed more printers in the library including 3 printers on Level 2 of the library (2 of which print 55 pages per minute – super speedy).

Our fleet of student printers are located in the following locations;

  • Library (8 printers)
  • Library Study Zone (2 printers)
  • Cottrell 2A18 (3 printers)
  • Cottrell 1A11A (3 printers – for dissertation printing)

And for the first time, we have located student printers in Student Halls, 1 in Andrew Stuart Hall and 1 in Beech Hall.

It is possible to print from your own device.

To set your laptop up to print from the student print system have a look at our FAQ

You can also print to the student print system from your MAC, info can be found at this FAQ

In the last year, we launched the service that allows students to print from their mobile devices, you can either download the EveryonePrint app from your app store, or you can print using your University email account. Have a look at the FAQ to find out more.

We were also asked by a student if it is possible to print to the student print system if you forget to bring your student card with you. This is not actually something new, but it’s useful to know the answer. If you forget your card you can still logon to the printer to release your print jobs, copy or scan just by inputting your username and password into the touch panel on the printers.

If you need help with any of this just pop into the library and the staff at the Information Centre will be able to help you.
