Funders increasingly require researchers to submit data management plans with their funding applications. They also have policies on the management of research data which must be complied with.
Research integrity relies on good data management so you really need to start thinking about managing your research data from the very start of your project, when it is at proposal stage.
DMPOnline tool allows you to build a data management plan by answering a series of detailed questions, and has templates for each of the major UK funding bodies. This tool has been developed by the Digital Curation Centre with funding from JISC
You can now create a data management plan from the portal.
