The Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations has announced a new search interface to their global union catalogue of theses: Global Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Search (Global ETD Search).
For the first time the search interface provides end-user access directly to the collection which covers 4 million records of theses and dissertations from around the world. Over 200 national, regional and institutional thesis collections are harvested from major collections in Australia, USA, Canada, Brazil, France, Scandinavia, Taiwan, Chile, South Africa – and the UK.
Global ETD Search includes the British Library EThOS service and since the theses from the University of Stirling’s STORRE repository are harvested by EThOS, this means Stirling’s electronic theses are also included in Global ETD Search.
Global ETD Search covers records for theses that are available in full-text electronic format and where available includes links to the local repository with the full-text.
The Search also includes brief records for theses that are not available electronically and provides a link to the host Library catalogue for the full details. Remember, if a thesis is not available electronically you can use our Document Delivery Service to request the thesis from the other Library and we will do our best to arrange an inter-library loan.
