Love books and reading? Two book festivals are coming to Stirling in September

Book lovers in Stirling will be spoilt for choice this September with two book festivals taking place locally. The Off the Page festival will run from 8th – 15th September 2012 and events will take place in the Smith Art Gallery, the Tollbooth Arts Centre and local public libraries. The programme can be viewed here, it includes adventurer Mark Beaumont, poet and novelist James Robertson and author Peter May.

 

If one book festival isn’t enough, the weekend of 14th – 16th September 2012 will see Scotland’s first crime writing festival – Bloody Scotland take place in Stirling. This festival will feature over 40 crime writers including Ian Rankin, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride as well as crime writing master classes offered in conjunction with staff from the University’s Division of Literature and Languages.
