Every year, the University of Stirling invites students to take part in the Jisc Digital Experience Insights Survey – a national initiative designed to understand how you use technology in your studies, how it supports your learning, and what digital skills you’re developing along the way.
This isn’t just another survey. It’s a chance to tell us what’s working, what’s not, and what could be better when it comes to your digital experience at university.
This blog post follows up on the feedback we received from the Autumn 2024 survey and see our series of blog posts and the changes that we made to our services directly linking back to your suggestions and comments.
Areas you highlighted (You Said)
In the most recent survey our respondents said:
- Technology – They asked for more computers on campus, and asked for more access to software
- Canvas – They needed general help navigating Canvas, they were finding it difficult to find content in different modules. They also requested mandatory Canvas training for new students.
- Digital skills – not having the digital skills needed for university, not knowing where to get these skills, worried about the digital skills needed for future employability
- Library – They needed help finding content, needing help researching topics
- Help – They asked questions about where to get help with various enquiries, not just Library and IT questions.
These insights help us understand what’s working and where we need to do better.
Why the survey matters
Your feedback directly shapes how we improve Library and IT services. Even small suggestions from one person can lead to big changes that benefit everyone.
