Library and Canvas Essentials
Discover everything you need to know about the University of Stirling Library and IT services this autumn. From installing Office 365 for free to accessing our extensive digital and physical resources, we’re here to help you make the most of your time on campus.
We’ll walk you through Canvas, our virtual learning environment, showing you how to:
- Log in and personalise your dashboard
- Change the screen layout to suit your preferences
- Set up notifications so you never miss an update
- Navigate your modules with ease
- Locate your reading lists quickly
You’ll also learn where to go when you need help, whether it’s technical support, research skills, or library guidance. These are essential tools to support your learning and help you succeed.

IT Wizards – Here to Help!
Need help getting connected? Our friendly IT Wizards are on hand to support you with:
- Connecting your devices to eduroam Wi-Fi
- Installing Office 365 apps like Word, Excel, and Teams
- Navigating platforms like Canvas, Panopto, OneDrive, and the Library catalogue
- Logging into student printers and using print, copy, and scan features
📍 Find them on Level 2 of the Library, near the Information Centre, or at the Welcome Hub.
Classroom Support
Lecturers can request help from our IT Wizards to set up the teaching room technology at the start of class. Just complete the Start of Class Support form to book assistance.
Our student team will help you:
- Set up the room’s technology
- Locate your attendance check-in code
