Welcome Hub
Visit the Welcome Hub from Friday, 17th January to Friday, 24th January in Campus Central, Level 3, for a fun introduction to the University of Stirling! You’ll have the chance to meet new people and connect with all the fantastic departments that will shape your student experience here.
Pre-arrival Online Orientation Programme
The online orientation programme is designed to help new students get acquainted with the university and its resources before the start of the semester. It includes engaging online sessions covering various topics such as library and IT services, enrolment, reading, writing, and critical thinking.
The pre-arrive online orientation programme runs from Monday, 6th to Friday, 10th January, at 14:30 to 15:30 (GMT) daily.

Library and Canvas essentials
Discover everything about the library at Stirling, including how to install Office365 for free, access our extensive resources, and make the most of our wonderful library. We’ll guide you through Canvas, our virtual learning environment, showing you how to log on, change the screen layout, set up notifications, navigate your modules, and find your reading lists. We’ll also point you to where you can get help when you need it. These are essential skills for your learning experience.

IT Wizards
Need help getting connected to Wi-Fi? Our IT Wizards are here to assist you. Our IT Wizards can assist with a variety of tasks such as:
- Connecting your devices to the University’s Wi-Fi, eduroam.
- Assist you in installing Office 365 applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook, ensuring you can work online from anywhere.
- Help you get accustomed to university-provided platforms for teaching, such as Canvas, Panopto, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and the Library catalogue.
- They can also help you log on to the student printer/copiers in the Library and Labs, and guide you through printing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
You can find them in the Library on Level 2, in front of the Information Centre, or at the Welcome Hub.
Classroom Support
Our IT Wizards will also assist lecturers in getting their classes up and running with the technologies in the teaching rooms and lecture theatres. Complete our Request start of class support form to book an IT Wizard. Our students will help you set up the technology in the room and assist you in finding the attendance check-in code you need for your class. Please note, they will not stay for the entire session.
