Microsoft has informed us of a change to the default save location for Teams meeting recordings.
Teams meeting recordings will be saved to the meeting organiser’s OneDrive instead of the OneDrive of the person who initiated the recording. This improves the compliance of recordings as meeting organisers can then manage access permissions and recording file management.
Microsoft will roll this change out automatically from May 2024.
Please note it is not advisable to create a meeting from a shared mailbox as there are several issues and inconsistencies associated with Teams meetings created this way. Shared mailboxes are not licensed for One Drive so we would expect recordings initiated this way to fail.
