  1. Hi
I am a postgraduate MBA student currently completing my dissertation. To inform my studies I would like to get a copy of the following chapter – Goal Setting: Basic Findings and New Developments at the Team Level – from the following book – Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics
    Publisher – Springer Berlin Heidelberg
    DOI 10.1007/978-3-642-01293-8
    Copyright 2009
    ISBN 978-3-642-01292-1 (Print) 978-3-642-01293-8 (Online)
    Part Part 3
    DOI 10.1007/978-3-642-01293-8_19
    Pages 245-254
    Subject Collection Engineering
Any help you can provide with this would be appreciated.

  2. Hi Fiona

As a postgraduate student you’re lucky in that you can use the Document Delivery Service to request any item that you need for your studies if the library doesn’t already have it.

The library will then locate a copy of the book (or journal article) in another library and ask the other library to send a copy to us so that you can borrow it here (if it’s a journal article the file may be emailed directly to you).

The service is free for you to use. First register and then submit your requests online – you can register and submit your requests by choosing the Document Delivery Service link on the right hand side of the Library home page (http://www.is.stir.ac.uk). Then choose the “Make a Request” link at the top of the Document Delivery Service page .

So to get a copy of this book simply register then enter the details. The Library will send you an email when the book is ready for you to pick up.

    I hope this helps

  3. hi there.
I was looking for a french only dictionary the other day but I couldn’t find any. I don’t know if I was just blind but I was quite shocked that a french teaching Uni does not own a french only dictionary. If you really don’t have one in the library I would strongly encourage to buy one!

  4. Thank you for your comment. The Library does have a copy of “Le petit Robert” monolingual (French to French) dictionary. It is available in the Study Zone Study Lounge. During the interim year whilst many people are using the temporary Study Zone (http://www.is.stir.ac.uk/libraries/study-stirling.php) we thought it would be easiest if we moved this type of reference material nearest to where you would most likely be doing your studying. The catalogue record with full information about the dictionary can be viewed at: http://libcat.stir.ac.uk/record=b1325783~S5

  5. Hi i am looking for the book Psychology by
    G. Neil Martin, Neil R. Carlson [and] William Buskist. You seem to hav ethe 2nd and 3rd edition but its the 4th edition i need.

  6. Hi Kerry

Yes, you’re right although we have the older editions of this psychology book we don’t yet have the most recent 4th edition. This is a really good example of when it’s useful to use the Request the Library buy a book form. So I’ve completed that form for you – it will go to the Librarian for psychology who will email you soon about the request. It’s really helpful for us to know the books that students wish we had – so please do send any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Clare
